Prince Rainier III Centenary Commemorations
In 2023, Monaco will celebrate the centenary of the birth of Prince Rainier III. To provide a fitting tribute, a commemoration committee will be organising various special events. The celebrations will begin on 31 May 2023 with a grand festival on the Rock, continuing throughout the year with events including a film and photography exhibition devoted to the “Builder Prince”, in homage to the memory of a great man described by Prince Albert II as the “Father of the Monegasques for 56 years”.
Visit the Polar Worlds at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco
Until December 2023, the Oceanographic Museum is hosting a huge exhibition tracing more than a century of life in the Arctic and Antarctica: “Polar Mission”. The Museum offers a five-stage immersion, where visitors will be able to meet the great polar explorers, the species which have adapted to life in these regions, the people that have chosen the Far North as their home and the researchers who are advancing science. A highlight of the visit, the ‘Immersion’ room offers 650 m2 of projection space to experience the beauty, as well as the fragility of the polar worlds. A refreshingly cool experience in the summer heat!
